Acting for the Camera: Mastering the Technical Craft of On-Screen Performance

8-week class starts on Wednesday, April 10
Maximum # of students: 8
Instructor - Working Artist Group Co-Director, Laura Carson
Class Time - 6:30pm - 9:30pm
Investment: 2 ways to pay!
2 payments of $165 (due by 4/10 and 5/8)
or
$300 due by 4/10 (Savings of $30)

Once you’re cast, you’ve learned your lines and you show up on set, the director expects you to not only inhabit your character, but he or she needs you to hit your marks, remember your physical actions, adjust your performance to the various camera set-ups and do the same thing, over and over and over again.  You may wait hours to work then have to deliver a great performance no matter what time of day or night.

It’s a demanding, technical craft and the actor who knows how to show up on set like a pro works consistently.

The Class
You will be put you on camera every class (and your footage will be sent to you via Dropbox afterwards) so you have the opportunity to learn:

 ·     How do you move on camera? Know your face and what it’s capable of.

·     Accessing extreme vulnerability and sharing that with the lens

·     Scene work filmed like a “day on set” with Master, Medium and Closeup shots

·     How do you deliver the same performance multiple takes?

·     Hitting marks

·     Continuity

·     Developing the ability to be present, flexible and fearless in your acting choices while staying on your marks (the “Tiger in a Box”)
